A note on one word: blessed
The Greek is makarios. It is a declaration, not a description of mood: its opposite in Luke 6 is woe, not unhappy. Flourishing also sits inside the range of the Greek and is kept as Root's reading in the glossary. Blessed stands here because it carries the declaration without making the most-read sentence in the Sermon on the Mount strange to read.
